These are made from 6068 anodized Aluminum. Do not even think about getting these bobbins made out of steel or anything else that hard! They are made from this aluminum so that the brake rotor does not wear, and neither does the part that they mount on. Just like OEM.

Check the brake rotors on your bike, in case it is one of the models above. Side to side play is normal, but if the discs turn clockwise or anti-clockwise, that is not OK.

All you need to have them as new are these bobbins. The spacers can be reused, as they are not an item that wears.

Fitting them requires you to:

– take off the front wheel;

– take the rotors off(retaining bolts might have Loctite on them so heating might be needed; check with the manual);

– replace the bobbins;

– put back the rotors on the wheel; tightening torque is required (21Nm, but check with the manual to be sure).

Rolling something has always been easier than pushing or pulling, that is why we invented the wheel.

Started making these rotating gearbox shift lever tips in stainless steel, where the outer bushing rotates on it’s spindle, making shifting gears a much pleasant experience, compared to the OEM tip that has rubber on it, adding unnecessary friction & wear to the process.

TIG welded, tested thoroughly, allowing a wider adjusting range since the offset is also bigger compared to the original setup.

Regarding setting it up on your bike, adjust the tip so that when sitting in the saddle, your left foot is just slightly over the tip, not too low so that you have to “search” for it, not too high so that you rest on it.

Attention! It only fits to the bikes that allow for the tip to be removed/replaced. It will not fit the one-piece gearshift levers.

The CanBus generation of BMW bikes are getting older and older now, and time starts to show it’s effects on them. One of the few issues that can occur in these bikes is the fuel pump controller. Signs of a bad fuel pump controller (named FPC from now onwards) are various, like: The engine turns […]

For the BMW R1200 LC liquid cooled series, I added the seal for the piston. Seals tend to leak from time to time, so swapping in a new one when also fitting a new clutch, is a good ideea 🙂

Attention, this only includes the seal, not the whole assembly(piston and cylinder)! Basically, the seal can start to leak, the piston and cylinder never touch and there is no need to replace them.

  One advantage of working on bikes and producing parts is that I get to see which ones fail sooner/prematurely. For the R1200 GS and GS Adventure bikes, the rear plastic mudguard tends to break and get lost, because of BMW part # 46627671618, hence the replacement I make. These are pretty weak in OEM […]

Early 1200 hexhead GSD models had some handguards that the mounts were prone to failure.
BMW has issued a recall on these, and added a sticker letting the rider know that, from time to time, the fittings needed to be checked.
The main issue was that the handguard came down from the vibrations and the brake or clutch lever/s did not return to the resting position.
This meant that you could ride with either the clutch pulled in(resulting in premature wear) or, even worse, with the front brake applied!

The mounts I produce stay put, as they should!

The upper windshield brackets on the BMW R1200RT bikes tend to brake, due to the fact that they are too thin for the forces they have to put up with. As a replacement, I have started making these stainless steel (aluminum or anything else will lose it’s nice finish; besides, I have seen some other aftermarket aluminum offers but I don’t really trust that material for this function) brackets that will never fail and will always look shiny on your expensive bike 🙂

These fit all the R1200RT series, starting 2005. E.g. 46637681429 46637728676 and the K1200LT bikes!

These also seem to break, especially if you plan to fit a larger windshield that applies more downforce on these fragile OEM brackets.

Mine come in mirror polished stainless steel, CNC cut, TIG welded. There is a lot more TIG welding involved in these, compared to the upper ones.
