LED lights in Hella FF50 package, 5 year warranty!
One of the most important thing on a bike, safety wise, is to have a set of auxiliary lights, besides the main headlight. By doing so, you end up with a “triangle of light”, composed by the three different light sources. This is important because:
- oncoming traffic drivers can better estimate the distance between you and them, and they do not start an overtake, don’t turn left in front of you, etc.
- you become more visible within traffic
- riding becomes easier at evening/night time, because you can see better
- you are no longer a dot of light in the distance; three different lights clearly indicate a motorcycle, coming pretty fast towards a car
Now… Some bikes come factory equipped with auxiliary lights. What happens if one of them stops working, or you drop the bike and break one, and find out they are no longer produced? You have to change the good one as well, and also update the wiring harness… All that trouble for one broken light.
What I have tried to do here is combine a good LED light source with a reliable package, in the shape of Hella FF50. Hella, as company, has been around for 100+ years. The H7 LED light source is guaranteed to have the same light intensity when you fit and first light it up, and 5 years later, as the warranty for this LED and light pack combo(since purchase date).
The brackets are made from stainless steel, laser CNC cut, stainless steel rivetted, stainless steel fastening screws, so that everything will be kept shining, at all times, rust free.
These were designed to be fitted to BMW bikes, 2008 and onwards, but not limited to. The Hella FF50 packaging also includes a bracket that can be virtually fitted to anything, any bike basically. Either on the crashbars or any other mounting spot available on the bike.
Here’s a link to a pdf file that should help installing the harness to the bike.
