As time passes, after numerous heat/cool engine cycles, along all those years since the bike has been built, the intake pulleys start to crack, at first, and then they literally break, leaving you accelerating with just one of the two carburetors. So what happens is that they crack, and at some point, if you accelerate like WOT, the plastic tab will break!
As usual, the WHY?
As time passes, after numerous heat/cool engine cycles, along all those years since the bike has been built, the intake pulleys start to crack, at first, and then they literally break, leaving you accelerating with just one of the two carburetors. So what happens is that at first, they crack, and at some point, if you accelerate wide open, the plastic tab/s will break!
These parts are way more sturdy, as sturdy as the space allows them to be, can’t get them beefier than that!
Not hard to mount, just remove the intakes, slide out the plastic protectors, remove the spring and any piece of the old part that is still attached to the metal tab and fit these over, install in reverse order and sync them.
The pack contains parts for both sides intakes, hardware included, so one bike. You can inspect yours visually and either if they are or are not cracked, just rebuild them and forget about it ever failing again! Don’t wait till it leaves you stranded!
